OE Construction: Providing Students Hands-On Experience

OE Construction is proud to work alongside local high schools to bring the hands-on construction experience to students from throughout the Denver Metro area.

A sitework, site development and underground utilities contractor, OE Construction recently enjoyed the opportunity to play host to a hands-on construction workshop event, providing Wheat Ridge High School students an invaluable learning opportunity and hands-on experience with on-site construction equipment and processes.

The event, held the morning of Tuesday, September 26 for students involved with the Colorado Construction Connection Program, was hosted by OE Construction owner Terri Olson, who provided the 15 participating students the chance to gain hands-on experience with heavy equipment and onsite construction site tasks, as well as food and beverages, Caterpillar Caps and OE Construction T-shirts.

OE Construction, specializes in excavation and underground utilities, and has been Colorado-owned and operated from the beginning. The OE mission, and guarantee, is to do the job right, a philosophy that has been the central focus of all OE work for nearly 50 years.

The Colorado Construction Connection program was developed by the Associated General Contractors organization, or AGC, as a way to cultivate interest in construction careers; a partnership between local high schools and construction companies that offers those interested the opportunity to further explore the possibilities and potential of working in the field.

The September AGC event was considered a success, offering students a wonderful learning opportunity, as well as important insight into what takes place on a typical job site. OE Construction is grateful for the chance to teach, encourage and inspire aspiring professionals interested in pursuing opportunities in the field.
